The overall aim of Basic Technician Certificate in Community Development is to enhance awareness of the basic Community Development approaches and processes. The NTA Level 4 programme is designed to equip candidates with basic knowledge and skills and enable them to become effective change agents who will have the capacity to collaborate with other extension staff to spearhead development at grass root level.

The Basic Technician Certificate of Community Development consists of seventeen (17) modules that are spread over two semesters in one academic year. Each semester covers 15 weeks of learning followed by two weeks for the end of semester examinations. Therefore, the whole programme has a total of thirty four (34) weeks of study for the full-time attendance mode.

Payment of fees should be made before or during registration. Failure to pay within the specified period may result in withdraw of registration. Fees for various courses consist of the amount payable directly to the Institute and that payable directly to students. Whereas the amount payable directly to the Institute covers for tuition, field supervision, students’ organization, and registration; and the amount payable directly to the student covers for meals allowance, books and stationery, accommodation, medical allowance, practical training allowance and dissertation production. However, the amount to be paid to students will normally depend on their sponsors’ policies.
