The Basic Technician Certificate in Development Administration and Management intends to impart knowledge to students on the theories and practices of Development administration and Management. The programme is specifically aimed at enabling learners to: Apply planning, monitoring and evaluation, business opportunity identification techniques for administering and managing community development activities, Apply data collection techniques, communication and office management skills for administering and managing sustainable development activities, Utilise basic principles of economics, mathematics and statistics, accounting and microfinance knowledge and skills to resource and manage implementation of community development activities and Integrate administration and management, local government structures and good governance knowledge in administering and managing sustainable development.

Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four (4) passes in any subjects except religious subjects

NTA level 4 curriculum comprise of thirty (17) modules delivered in two semesters in one academic years. The modules are spread over the two semesters in one academic year. Each taught module is to be covered in one semester of fifteen (15) weeks of learning followed by two (2) weeks for the end of semester examinations. The class and examination sessions are conducted in thirty four (34) weeks. In addition, each student is required to participate in six (6) weeks of field attachment. Therefore, the whole programme is conducted in forty (40) weeks.

Payment of fees should be made before or during registration. Failure to pay within the specified period may result in withdraw of registration. Fees for various courses consist of the amount payable directly to the Institute and that payable directly to students. Whereas the amount payable directly to the Institute covers for tuition, field supervision, students’ organization, and registration; and the amount payable directly to the student covers for meals allowance, books and stationery, accommodation, medical allowance, practical training allowance and dissertation production. However, the amount to be paid to students will normally depend on their sponsors’ policies.
