Work Experience

Mihayo M. Maguta is a holder of a PhD in environmental science from the University of Olso, Norway and also has attended various professional trainings related to environmental issues both in Tanzania and abroad. Currently, he is working as a Lecturer in the Department of Environmental Planning of the Institute of Rural Development Planning where he has been teaching various modules related to environmental matters including; environmental pollution and management; energy, environment and development; Disaster management, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Environmental Auditing. He has a working experience of 21 years as a researcher, trainer and consultant in the areas of his expertise. He has conducted various consultant works including industrial environmental auditing in various industries in the country as well as providing training to various stakeholders engaged in solid waste management. He has also served as a member of various committees at the Tanzania Bureau of Standards as well as an editorial board member of the Tanzania Journal of Science. Above all, he has published various articles in internal journals hosted by reputable publishing houses including Elsevier and Springer.
