Work Experience

Mr. Hezbon Mtawa is an experienced teacher, researcher and consultant in Political Science and Public Administration, Human Resource Management and Educational Administration and Management for over 9 years. He is a professional Teacher with TSC number M.97291. 

Currently, he is working as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Development Finance and Management Studies at the Institute of Rural Development Planning (IRDP) since 2021. He worked as a Human Resource Officer for 6 years, from 2016 to 2021 at the Institute of Rural Development Planning and Njombe District Council. He worked as a secondary school teacher for 5 years at Merriwa High School, a private school (for 3 years), and at Ninga Secondary School, a government school (for 2 years). He was a leader in the students’ government in all his formal school life.

Mr. Hezbon Mtawa held various administrative positions in different organizations at different times, like Admission Coordinator at IRDP, Acting Head of Human Resource and Administration Department at Njombe District Council (March to September 2020), Secretary of Integrity Committee at Njombe District Council (2016–2020), Academic Master at Ninga Secondary School (2015–2016), Second Headmaster at Merriwa High School (2013–2014), and Senior Academic Master at Merriwa High School (2011–2013).

Mr. Hezbon Mtawa is interested in consultancy and research in areas of Public Administration, Leadership and governance, Public Policy, Human Capital Transformation, Human Resource Management, Educational management, Democracy and Election as well as African Politics.
