Work Experience

Aroni Bakari works as an Assistant lecturer in the Department of Environmental Planning of the Institute of Rural Development Planning. He is an Environmental and Natural Resource Scientist with 3 years of experience as a researcher, trainer, and consultant in the field of environment not limited to Natural Resources Management, Eco-Vulnerability Assessments, Environmental Management, and Climate Change.

Professional Skills

  • Wide experience in satellite data acquisition, processing, information extraction and analysis for various purposes such as land use/cover changes, natural resource management, ecological vulnerability evaluation and resource mapping.
  • Designing online mobile data collection platforms using most current technologies, i.e OpenDataKit (ODK).
  • Experienced in the use and applications of statistical packages such as SPSS

Research and academic Interests

My main research and academic interests are in Climate Change Action, Livelihood Vulnerability Assessment, Ecological Vulnerability Assessments, Environmental Assessment (Environmental Impact Assessment and Strategic Environmental Assessment), and Natural Resource Management.
