Work Experience

Harold Mabwe (MSc. Development Evaluation and Management) works as Lecturer in the Department of rural development planning of the Institute of Rural Development Planning. He is a development practitioner with 13+ years of experience as a; trainer, researcher and consultant in the field of project management, planning implementation monitoring and evaluation, not limited to risk analysis, strategic planning policy analyst management and planning.

  • Wide knowledge of qualitative and quantitative impact evaluation using methods such as., RCT, quasi-experiment, Outcome Harvesting (OH), Most Significant Change (MSC) 
  • Extensive skills in using participatory tools and frameworks for designing various interventions e.g., Community Based Management System(CBMS), SWOT analysis, improved O&OD, Objective Oriented Project Planning (OOPP), and PESTEL, political opportunity structure (POS), political Economic Analysis (PEA), LFM, etc,.
  • Experienced in the use and applications of statistical packages such as SPSS, Stata, and NVIVO Software for data management, analysis and interpretations.
  • Managing projects using Microsoft Project, e.g. develop and generate Project Charter, Scope Statements, WBS, CPM/PERT, Earned Value Analysis (EVA)

Main research and academic interest are: on population and development, rural development design, poverty analysis, policy analysis, social planning, risk analysis, gender issues, project management, project design, and evaluation of different interventions.
