John Adelhardus (MA) works as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Population Studies of the Institute of Rural Development Planning. He is Community Development Professional and Public Policy Analyst with 5+ years of experience as a researcher, trainer and consultant in the field of Community Development of ecological and hydrological processes of watersheds


Professional Skills

  • Wide knowledge of Gender Analysis for project and policy planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation including gender analysis for Supporting Inclusive Adequate Housing in Dar es Salaam, and climate change policies
  • Extensive skills in using Urban GHG Computing and Analytical Platform which Consider Human Needs.
  • Wide experience (since 2017) in community organizing, community engagement activities, community mobilization, resource mobilization and conflict resolutions through funded projects including Credit Enhancement Project Funded by UNHABITAT and Supporting Inclusive to Adequate Housing through Housing Cooperative Model (SIAAH) Funded by WE EFFECT.
  • Processing and statistical analysis of primary data. Also, effective in writing and presenting the complex scientific research results in a clear and succinct manner
  • Designing online mobile data collection platforms using most current technologies, i.e. Survey Solutions and OpenDataKit (ODK).
  • Experienced in the use and applications of statistical packages such as SPSS, and R-Statistical Software.

The main research and academic interests are in community and development studies, public policy analysis, gender and development, climate change adaptation and mitigation, youth, and development, innovations and technologies.
